Developments and Partnerships

Since the launch of Volunteer New Orleans in early March 2007, the response to the initiative has been overwhelming and extremely positive.   We hope this website can eventually become the hub for discovering volunteer opportunities as well as connecting people with organizations to make a difference. 

We are excited to have forged partnerships with some incredible local organizations to combine resources in order to make getting involved with volunteer efforts a quick and convenient experience.   

In August 2007, VNO was excited to partner with Cox, United Way of Greater New Orleans and Volunteers of America to utilize the 1-800 Volunteer website and Greater New Orleans Disaster Recovery Partership's Volunteer Connection.  These are both online databases which volunteers can be matched with several organizations in the greater New Orleans area. 

Now the VNO site can provide assistance to those interested in volunteer housing, transportation, discounts, and other essential components.
