Volunteer New Orleans is excited to showcase area businesses that encourage their employees to engage in local volunteerism. 

In late 2006, Cox Communications New Orleans committed in 2007 to have their employees take a day off to volunteer with the company to pay for that day of volunteer work.  With over 700 employees taking a day off to volunteer, Cox will have made a $130,ooo reinvestment indirectly into the local community and area non-profits, charitables, and civic organizations.

Companies, like Cox, are encouraged to make the same or if not similar pledges that support their employees taking an active role in volunteerism.

Volunteer New Orleans is working with area chambers and business associations to contact area companies directly for their participation.
